FAQ

Docker/Warden run locally - you still need to configure everything, and collaboration is impossible. Workspace Manager is cloud-hosted, pre-configured, and built for team collaboration. You get:

  • No local configuration needed
  • True collaboration (not just “it works on my machine”)
  • No hardware constraints
  • Instant task switching between projects

Codespaces is great for code editing, but doesn’t provide full application stacks with databases, search engines, and complex configurations. Workspace Manager is purpose-built for complete web application development with:

  • Full application stack support
  • Multi-workspace projects with shared resources
  • Built for web applications, not just code editing
  • Use your own IDE and tools

Absolutely! Use VS Code, PHPStorm, or any IDE that supports SSH/SFTP. We also offer optional integrated VS Code Server for browser-based editing.

  • SSH key authentication only
  • Configurable HTTP access rules
  • Project-based access control
  • Runs in your AWS account (current model)
  • Enterprise-grade Kubernetes infrastructure
  • No site data stored on local laptops
  • Workspace creation: 2-5 minutes
  • Developer onboarding: 10-15 minutes
  • Project setup: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Currently supported:

What if we need a platform you don’t support?

Section titled “What if we need a platform you don’t support?”

We’re actively expanding our supported platforms. Contact us to discuss your needs - we may be able to add support or create a custom workspace type.

Workspaces automatically stop after a configurable period of inactivity (default is typically 1-2 hours). They can be restarted in seconds when needed. This saves infrastructure costs without impacting developer productivity.

Can we customize the workspace configuration?

Section titled “Can we customize the workspace configuration?”

Yes! You can set default configurations at the project level, and developers can customize their individual workspaces as needed.
